This procedure ensures that users have a mapped drive to the user root directory. This mapping
is set in the "%SystemRoot%\Application Compatibility Scripts\RootDrv2.cmd" script.
Windows Terminal Server installed with licenses
Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 or MetaFrame XP installed with product and connection
licenses
Administrator password
1. Log-on to the Terminal Server as "Administrator."
2. Use Windows Explorer to find the "WINDOWS" (Server 2003) directory.
3. Use the "Find" function to locate the "RootDrv2.cmd" file. Does the "RootDrv2.cmd" file
exist?
Yes - Skip to step 11.
No - Continue with step 4.
4. Use the "Find" function to locate the "CHKroot.cmd" file.
5. Execute the "CHKroot.cmd" file by double clicking on it. This will create the
RootDrv2.cmd" in the "WTSRV" directory.
6. Use the "Find" function to locate the "RootDrv2.cmd" file.
7. Open the "RootDrv2.cmd" file for editing and locate the "Set Root Drive" entry.
8. Add the desired drive letter and the colon symbol to the end of the statement.
Example
Set RootDrive=W: (where "W" could be any drive letter)
9. Save the changes and close the file.
10. Skip to step 15.
11. Open the "RootDrv2.cmd" file for editing and locate the "Set Root Drive" entry.
12. Verify that the "Set Root Drive" entry contains a drive letter.
