The Bankway thin client is the hardware device used to connect to the Bankway Terminal
Server. Applications do not reside on the thin client and no CPU cycles are used to execute the
Terminal Server applications. The only processes that occur on the thin client device are screen
display, mouse and keyboard input, and access to local devices, such as validation printers.
Thin client devices have a minimal built-in operating system and do not have to be upgraded as
frequently as fat PCs.
The following information summarizes the hardware requirements for a Bankway thin client
device.
100 Mbps Ethernet Card
SVGA video card that supports a minimum resolution of 800 x 600 and 256 colors
Serial port
Note: Workstations connected to a cash dispenser and teller receipt printer
require two RS-232 serial ports.
