Caution: Failure to cover the sensor site with opaque material
in high ambient light conditions may result in inaccurate
measurements.
If patient movement presents a problem, try one or more of the
following remedies to correct the problem.
• verify that the sensor is properly and securely applied
• move the sensor to a less active site
• use an adhesive O
XIMAX sensor that improves patient skin
contact
• use a new sensor with fresh adhesive backing
• Keep the patient still, if possible
If poor perfusion affects performance, consider using the OXIMAX
MAX-R sensor; it obtains measurements from the nasal septal
anterior ethmoid artery, an artery supplied by the internal carotid
artery. This sensor may obtain measurements when peripheral
perfusion is relatively poor.
