GPS MIC BOX: For Mobile Radios
Features:
GPS MIC BOX adds over-the-air GPS location reporting features to mobile or
fixed (base) station 2-way radio.
GPS MIC BOX is compatible with AMPSG GPS system.
Works with many mobile 2-way radios including conventional and trunked.
Integrates into non-compressed voice radio system; does not require dedicated
data channel.
Location reports are short audible data burst transmissions.
Internal GPS receiver - SMA style jack allows connection of external GPS patch
antenna (included). GPS location data is typically accurate to 10 meters.
Onboard memory can record/store up to 1,300 location reports, equivalent to
over 100 hours of location history, assuming 1 location report per 5 min.period.
Allows radio operator to use mobile radio’s standard microphone.
Radio Cable layout varied by radio model - The GPS MIC BOX connects to most
two-way radios using only the radio’s accessory jack - Some radio models
require connection to a combination of the accessory jack, microphone jack,
and/or external speaker jack.
Integrated USB jack allows the connection to computer.
Base-Enabled feature allows user to view location reports graphically when unit
is connected to Windows PC running Tools software.
The GPS MIC BOX has same configurable reporting options as AMPSG mic.
Single Channel Base Station Operation
The GPS MIC BOX can be used as 1-channel GPS Base Station when connected
to Windows PC running Tools software suite. This enables location reports to be
displayed on Tools: CheckPoint mapping application.
