Delegating3CXManagementConsoleAccess
Introduction
3CXPhoneSystemallowsyoutodelegateaccesstothe3CXManagementConsole.Thisenables
a3CXPhoneSystemAdministratortosharemanagerialtaskswithdepartmentheads,orallowan
IT Administrator to manage the company’s extensions. The level of access can be adjusted
depending on what each user needs to have access to. Managerial tasks can now be delegated
anddividedbetweenagroupofindividuals,ratherthanoneadministrator,allowingthe3CXPhone
Systemtobemanagedmoreefficiently.
ConfiguringExtensionAccessPermissions
Toconfigureanextension’sManagementConsoleaccess,
1. Fromthe3CXManagementConsole,Select“Extensions”node.
2. Selecttheextensionyouwanttoallowaccesstoandclick“Editextension”.
3. Switchtothe“Options”tabandseta3CXWebAccesspassword.(provideittotheuserof
thatextension).
The user can then login into the 3CX Management Console using their extension number as the
usernameandthepasswordyousetinthepreviousstep.

Systemforeachcase:
UseCase1:AllowPowerUserstoManagetheirownExtensions
Power users can be allowed access to the management console to configure their extensions
parameters,suchasedittheirvoicemailPINnumberandconfiguretheiremailnotifications.Todo
this:
1. Fromthe“Options”tab,checkthe“Allow3CXManagementConsoleAccess”checkbox.
2. Clickthe“ConfigurePermissions”button.
3. Fromthedialogwindowchoose“ManageownExtension”andclick“OK”.
4. Click“Apply”tosaveChanges.
Byallowingausertomanagehis/herownextension,theusercan:
● Edittheiremailaddressandmobilephonenumber.
● ConfigurevoicemailoptionssuchasdisablePINauthenticationtolistentomessages,oredit
PINnumber.
● Configure email notifications such as whether to receive voicemails as email attachments
andreceiveemailnotificationonmissedcalls.
