Specifications
Tocreateanextensiongroup:
1. In the 3CX Management Console, click on the “Extensions” node and click on the “Add
ExtensionGroup”tab,fromthetopmenu.
2. Nowproceedtoaddextensionsbyselectingextensionsfromtheleftlistandclickingonthe
“Add” button. Note that Extensions can now be part of multiple groups. Publish Group
information to allcompany users: This option publishesyour Group presence to allthe
3CXPhoneSystemUsers(alltheextensionscanseeyourgrouppresenceandcalls).
Roleofuserinthegroup
YoucanselectwhichuserwillbetheManagerofthegroupby:
1. Clickingonthe“MemberRights”tab,thenclickingontheuser’snameinthe“Extensions
inthisGroup”list.
2. Youmaythenselectthe“Roleofuserinthisgroup”whereyoumayselect“Manager”or
“User”andaccordinglytheuserwillbegrantedtherightsofamanagerorauser.Youcan
configure one or more “Managers” for any group. Typically this would be a department
supervisor.GroupManagerswillbeabletoseethecalldetailsofeveryonewithinthatgroup.
GroupDefaultRights
The “Default Group Rights” tab specifiesthe default rightsthat are assignedto each userrole.
Thedefault“Manager”and“User”rightsapplytothecurrentextensiongroup.Youcanconfigure
theserightsseparatelyforeachextensiongroup.
Toconfigurethedefaultgrouprights:
1. Click on the “Default Group Rights” tab. These settings pertain to what group members
anduserswithinthisgroupcanseeanddoin3CXPhone.
2. Optionally you can enable the Managers extension to perform operations on calls of the
groupmembers.Checktheoption“Performoperationsoncallstousersofthisgroup”
toenablethis.
3. Similarly,youcanalsoconfigurewhatrightsUsergroupmembershave.
4. Click“OK”tosavethe group and rightsinformation.Userswillneedtologoutand login to
3CXPhonetoseetheirnewrightsreflected.
