Groups
The Datalog allows for up to 100 input groups to be assigned to the system with a text description
to identify the group when displayed on the Input Group form. The main purpose of the group is to
inhibit or activate all the zones in that group. The Galaxy panel has 16 groups for a Galaxy 500,
and 32 groups for a Galaxy 512. It is possible to synchronise Datalog groups with Galaxy Panel
groups. This will allow the Datalog zones within the Datalog group to be Active/inhibited when the
Panel’s group is Set/Unset.
To do this requires the Datalog editor program or the information being passed to the installer prior
to installation. When adding Datalog Input Groups, the Input Group description must be preceded
with a ‘#’ character followed by the panel number, then a ’G’ character followed by the group
number, followed by a space character, e.g. #1G3 First Floor Alarms, #2G12 Stores Alarms.
The Datalog group is then assigned to the individual zones that are members of that group. On
panel initialisation the Panel input is assigned to the relevant Panel group. Once assigned then the
Datalog group and its member zones will be inhibited when the Panel’s group is Unset, and active
when the panel’s group is Set.
Any zones assigned to a Datalog group with no preceding panel identifier, or not assigned to any
group will default to being on Panel Group 1. However, the active/inhibit state of these zones will
not be affected by the Setting/Unsetting of Panel Group 1
.
Remote Keypad
An option is available, mainly for engineering purposes to program panels, which will switch output
relays and read the events log as it is transmitted to the Datalog. To use this option, sign on with an
appropriate password and choose ‘Galaxy’ from the ‘Tools’ menu or press the speed button with
the Microtech panel/keypad logo
.
The Galaxy form will display press the Keypad tab if the form is not as below:
