Axle-Back Exhaust System
2014+ Cadillac CTS V-Sport 3.6L V6 Turbo
PN: 14325
Factory Exhaust System Removal:
1. Beginning at the rear of the vehicle, remove the five (5) bolts on each side securing the splash guard to the heat
shield using the 1/4” drive ratchet and 7mm socket. (Fig. A) The heat shield is riveted in place at the factory so it
cannot be completely removed at this time. Removing the bolts on each side will allow the guard to flex enough
to remove the factory exhaust.
2. Just behind the rear differential, the passenger and drive axle pipes pass under the subframe. Mark the
passenger axle pipe 1.75” from the end of the bend towards the rear of the vehicle. (Fig. B) The dotted line
illustrates where the bend stops and the straight length starts. The solid line to the left (towards the rear of the
vehicle) will be the cut line.
3. Repeat Step #2 on the driver’s side, also marking 1.75” from the end of the bend. (Fig. C) The long, solid line
shows the end of the bend and beginning of straight and the short line shows the cut, measured towards the
rear of the vehicle.
4. Using a chain cutter or similar device, cut on the marked lines. DO NOT cut on the lines indicating the end of the
bend! Using a rasp or file, clean any burrs off of the outside of the pipes.
5. Remove the two hangers from the rubber grommets upstream of the muffler using grommet pullers or a similar
device. (Fig. D) After removing the front hangers, the factory rear muffler will only be supported by one hanger
on each side of the vehicle within the rear bumper. Take care as to not let the muffler hang or fall as to prevent
damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
Note: The use of a soap and water solution may make removing grommets easier.
6. Carefully remove the factory exhaust system from the vehicle by first lowering the front of the muffler and then
gently but firmly pulling towards the front of the vehicle. (Fig. E)
Note: Pivoting the exhaust side to side to pull one side’s hanger out before the other may make removal easier.
This concludes the factory exhaust system removal process.
