This chapter provides a description of the MA-860 system, its architecture, installation
configurations, operation and required commissioning procedures.
1.1 About MobileAccess MA-860

MA-860 solution is part of the MobileAccess third generation family of products for Wireless LAN
infrastructure.
The MA-860 solution combines a SMART EDGE control unit and antenna control capabilities to
provide centralized, secure AP management with greater range and coverage visibility.
The MA-860 system can be used as stand-alone - providing only WiFi coverage, or in conjunction
with MobileAccess Mobile Service elements – combining WLAN with other wireless services for
distribution over a common infrastructure.
A truly integrated solution offering a combined services approach to distribute WiFi, cellular/PCS,
public safety, and WMTS through a single antenna infrastructure while maintaining a reliable
application independent environment.
