lost. Strictly, such data cannot be correlated any more. However, as long as only a few over-
flows occurred correlation within one and the same TDC may still possible without noticeable
errors. However, data with more than 10 overflows are useless for correlation.
Device State
’Device state’ informs about the general status of the DPC-230 see Fig. 69.

The most common status messages are
Collecting Data: Measurement running
User break: Measurement has been stopped by the operator
Displaying Data: Measurement finished, final result is displayed
Displaying data from file: Data loaded from an .sdt file are displayed
Total 275635 events collected: Measurement has recorded the indicated number of events
Displaying data from file: Displaying data loaded from an .sdt data file
Overflow(s) occurred: The FIFO has run full, not all photons could be recorded
Waiting for Trigger: Measurement started, waiting for experiment trigger
