VoCALL CFVCM
Emergency Voice Communications System
The VoCALL Emergency Voice Communications System
(EVCS) is designed to fully comply with BS5839-Part
9:2003 (abb. Pt9) for use as a Fire Telephone system,
Disabled Refuge Call system or as a combined system
when both Fire Telephones and Disabled Refuge Points
are required.
An EVCS is a fixed, secure, bi-directional, full duplex voice
communication system to assist fire fighters in an emergency
in high rise buildings or large sites where Radio communication
may not work, and covers the operation of both fire telephones
and disabled refuge systems. Where both systems are fitted to
a building pt9 specifies these should form a single system.

a central exchange.
Control of the VoCALL EVCS is simplicity itself, the master
console has a clear four line backlit display which shows the
calling outstation name in plain text, and calls can be made to
outstations by either dialling the number of the unit, or choosing
the name from a text dialling directory.
The network comprises a line or ring of 8 cores (see below),
each leg can be up-to 500M depending on cable type. A ring
topology is recommended by 5839 pt9.
In line with the recommendations of BS5839 pt9 multiple master
consoles can be fitted to VoCALL (up-to eight) with lockouts
operating when a consoles are in use.
The stylish master console case is manufactured from brushed
stainless steel with black aluminium rack wings and extruded
aluminium guide rails, the case has been designed to mount
directly on a wall or desk, or fitted into a rack using an optional
mounting kit (occupies 6u of rack space).
