CFDAU30 - Addressable Voice Alarm System
The CFDAU30 is a new voice alarm system from
Cooper Fire, an innovation which combines the Cooper
analogue addressable fire detection panel functionality
and sophisticated cause and effect programming with
the very latest voice alarm address technology.
Up to 20, CFDAU30 can be installed per loop and can be
connected to any Cooper addressable fire detection panel.
The CFDAU30 has in build short circuit isolators and can be
either hard addressed using the Cooper hand held programmer
or soft addressed by the Cooper addressable panel.
The CFDAU30 delivers clear, intelligible voice alarm messages
too ensure reliable and consistent protection for both life safety
and property. (It is well documented that only 13% of people
react to bells, whilst 70% react to a voice message).
The CFDAU30 has been developed to replace sounders and
speech sounders in many applications where voice alarm
would be preferable. The CFDAU30 is a complete VA system
in a single, wall mounted box and comes complete with,
3 pre-recorded messages, fire interface, dual 30W monitored
amplifiers, power supply, monitored battery charger and inputs
for non monitored paging and music.

Speaker Monitoring
The speaker circuits are dc monitored for simplicity, allowing
speaker circuits to be commissioned using a simple multi-meter.
Each speaker requires a blocking capacitor, this is typically
1uF 250Vdc for ceiling speakers and 2.2uF 250Vdc for
Horn Speakers.
Messages
All messages are Windows
TM
WAV files, and are up loaded
to the on board Flash memory using a specially developed
PC application and a serial port (including USB types).
The unit holds three messages, with a combined playing time
of over 65 seconds.
Cables
Cables between the Fire Panel, Emergency Microphone
and Speakers must be fire rated for standards compliance.
The system is designed to run with all CWZ rated cables
including Mineral Insulated types, for maximum run lengths
consult the chart.
Each speaker circuit can have up to two spurs as shown
below for maximum flexibility.
