In the event of a Possible Malfunction, your CookTek MagnaWave Cooktop
will display an Error Code on the LED Display. Please consult the following
table when encountering an Error Code.
Error Probable Cause Solution
Code
1 RTD (Temperature Sensor) Turn the unit off and let it cool. Unit will return to Normal
Temperature Too High mode in a short time.
2 RTD (Temperature Sensor) is not Reconnect or replace RTD
connected or is malfunctioning Service May be Required
3 Current Too High Possible Mechanical damage to coil or possible foreign
object on Cooktop. Service May Be Required
4 Electronics are Overheating Check Intake Vents. Listen for fan operation.
Service May Be Required
5 Input Line Voltage Turn unit off. Unplug. Without replugging unit, turn power
(From Power Outlet) Too Low switch to the ON position. Turn the unit off and plug back
into the power outlet. Resume normal operation. If the
problem persists, have an electrician monitor the line voltage.
6 Input Line Voltage Turn unit off. Unplug. Without replugging unit, turn power
(From Power Outlet) Too High switch to the ON position. Turn the unit off and plug back
into the power outlet. Resume normal operation. If the
problem persists, have an electrician monitor the line voltage.
7 Micro Communication Malfunction Turn unit off. Unplug. Without replugging unit, turn power
switch to the ON position. Turn the unit off and plug back
into the power outlet. Resume normal operation. If the
problem persists, Service May Be Required
8 Electronics Timing Incorrect Turn unit off. Unplug. Without replugging unit, turn power
switch to the ON position. Turn the unit off and plug back
into the power outlet. Resume normal operation. If the
problem persists, Service May Be Required
9 RTD (Temperature Sensor) Service is required to replace RTD
is Shorted
Two Hob (Two Position) Cooktops
Operation of the two hob (two position) Cooktop is exactly the same as the single
position Cooktop. Each position will have its own, independently controlled, On-
Off Control Knob and its own, separately controlled, SmarTemp button. It is not
necessary to turn on both positions for the Cooktop to function.
NOTE: For Proper operation a dedicated circuit should be used for each unit
installed. Each unit should be protected with a 30 minimum circuit breaker.
