Installation CAUTION: Convectair recommends that the Allegro be installed by a qualified electrician, in accordance with national and local codes. To reduce the risk of fire, do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of the heater. Electrical Connection CONVECTAIR recommends that this heater be installed by a qualified electrician and in accordance with national and local codes. - A rectangular junction box must be installed in the wall, prior to electrical hookup. The box must be of appropriate size to receive the necessary electrical connections and the 2 3/4’’ x 4 1/2’’ (70mm x 115mm) cover that is supplied with the unit cable.
Operating Instructions : CONVECTAIR heaters operate in short cycles. The red indicator light tells you when heat is on. The CONVECTAIR will always remain warm and ambient temperature will remain constant. It is normal in very cold temperatures for the unit to become hot. Turning the heater ON. Note : When the heater is first connected, it will be in STANDBY position, with a blank display. To start, press briefly on the Heating STANDBY key. The display will show the default comfort set point : 19.0°C (66°F). Mode Selecting a °C or °F display. The setpoint display is set to °C by default. In order to display in °F : press the STANDBY key to put the heater in STANDBY. Then, press the Mode and + keys at the same time and hold for about 3 seconds. The display will show °F.
Comfort mode. When the thermostat is in Comfort mode, the heater will maintain the set temperature (19.0°C 66.0°F) without responding to any Programmer instruction. To change the set temperature, simply press the + or – keys to change the setting in steps of 0.5°. Mode Exception to the Comfort mode : If the heater is connected to a Programming system, it will still respond to a Frost Protection instruction.
To change the Eco temperature : When the display is in Eco mode, you have the option of choosing a set temperature. The Eco temperature can be set at any value between the Frost Protection temperature (7°C or 45°F) and the Comfort temperature minus 0.5°. Select the Eco mode. Press and maintain the Mode key until the temperature value starts to blink. Release the Mode key and adjust the temperature up or down in 0.5° steps using the + or – keys. Press Mode to confirm the setting.
Program Mode : This mode allows the heater to respond to instructions from a central Programmer system or from an individual Programmer module. The thermostat display will show the instruction being received (see summary table below). Mode To select the Program Mode : Press the Mode key briefly until the display shows the temperature setting with the letter P on the top right of the screen (19.0 or 66.0, for instance). The temperature is equal to the Comfort setting.
USING AN ELECTRIC HEATER WITH THE ‘‘AWC’’ : When you use an electric heater wall mount controller instead of the built-in thermostat display panel, the control panel of your heater becomes inactive. When a key is pressed, the screen will display ‘‘AU’’ for ‘‘Automatic’’, then show the temperature setting set by wall Remote. Warning : - Connecting your electric heater to an ‘‘AWC’’ will permanently reprogramm its thermostat.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS: CAUTION: Before any cleaning, make sure the power has been turned off at the circuit breaker panel and that the heating element of the heater is cool. To keep your unit clean, regular maintenance is suggested. To remove dust, use a soft cloth. To remove stain, use a damp cloth. Never use this heater during construction work or other activities that generate a lot of dust.
