Battery Back Up Installation
Battery Back Up (optional)
The  opener  has  provision  for  a  Battery  Back  Up  kit  that 
allows continued  operation of  the  door in  the absence  of 
mains power.
Installation
Disconnect power to the opener.1. 
Remove screws and swing the cover open 2.  (Fig. 40).
Mount battery pack and secure with item 11 and 12.3. 
Mount the SBY-3 Charger Board on the pre-mounted 4. 
hex spacers and secure with three (3) M4x8 screws.
Feed the 2-wire battery harness through the grommet 5. 
on the base plate and connect to the SBY-3.
Feed the charger  harness from SBY-3 to  the control 6. 
board. Plug the 4-pin connector marked “SBY-3” onto 
the control board.
Warning:  After  the  next  step  the  opener  may 
become active (even when power is off) due to a 
residual charge in the batteries. 
7. Connect item 3 and 7 together (Fig. 40).
8.  Reconnect power.
Testing Battery Back Up
Press either  the OPERATE button or  transmitter 1. 
to activate the opener.
Whilst  the  door  is  in  motion  disconnect  mains 2. 
power - the opener should continue to operate.
Note: Wait  for the door to complete its 
travel before proceeding to the next step
Press either  the OPERATE button or  transmitter 3. 
to activate the opener.
Whilst  the  door  is  in  motion  re-connect  power. 4. 
The door should complete the cycle as normal.
Troubleshooting
If door stops or moves very slowly under battery power, 
then the batteries may have little to no charge.
To  remedy  this  connect  mains  power  and  leave  the 
batteries to charge.  The batteries may take 24 to 48 
hours to reach their maximum charge capacity.
