Part 1: Introduction Overview The Perfit Optical Mouse is the latest generation of the original “Contour Mouse”. This new design incorporates all the Ergonomic Award Winning features of the original and adds the latest in 800dpi optical technology, a scroll wheel and a light-touch 2-position rocker switch. After careful consideration of our customers and ergonomics professional’s feedback, the decision was made to not change the overall form factor of the device.
Installing the Perfit Optical Mouse Driver Warning: Other mouse software can interfere with installation or use of the Contour Mouse driver; please remove them before installing the Contour Mouse driver: 1. From the Start menu, select Settings, Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs. 2. Select any mouse software that appears on the list. 3. Click Change/Remove to remove the mouse software. 4.
You are now ready to install the Contour Driver software: 1. Put the CD in the computer CD-ROM. 2. The computer should launch the CD and bring up the initial menu. (If the CD menu doesn’t appear, click on the Start menu, then Run. Click on Browse, select the CD and locate the correct setup file (.exe file). Once located, select Open then click OK.) 3. Follow the prompts to install the driver. Rebooting your computer will be necessary at the end of installation.
Part 2: Mouse Properties Panel Components Buttons Tab The Buttons Tab displays when the Mouse Properties panel is loaded. This Tab allows you to check that the driver properly recognizes your Perfit Mouse. By pressing your mouse buttons the corresponding button on the Mouse Properties panel will be highlighted (refer to figure below). This tab also allows you to program your mouse buttons.

− Unaccelerated: the cursor moves according to the sensitivity you set. − Accelerated: for slow mouse movements the acceleration more or less corresponds to the sensitivity; the more you increase your mouse movement, the more the acceleration increases with respect to the sensitivity, according to the chosen acceleration profile (Slow, Medium, Fast). Scrolling Tab The Scrolling Tab allows you to set the properties of the scroll wheel and to adjust the panning speed.
Clicks Tab The Clicks Tab allows you to set and test the doubleclick properties. Two parameters can be set to adjust the double-click functionality: 1. the time that occurs between the first and the second click (speed), 2. the distance between the first and the second mouse position (area). The computer can decide to ignore a double-click if: - too much time has occurred between the first and the second click and/or - you have moved the mouse too much between the first and the second click.
Odometer Tab The Odometer Tab allows you to monitor how much you are using your mouse. You can do this by enabling the odometer option. The odometer has two meters: 1. a total meter, which monitors the total, 2. a trip meter, which monitors your mouse use starting from a particular date and time. These meters measure the distance you cover with the mouse. You can set the measurement either in inches, feet, miles, millimeters, meters or kilometers.
Part 3: Removing the Perfit Optical Mouse Driver Note: This process cannot be undone. All settings within the Mouse Properties Panel will be lost.
