Battery replacement, master key
We recommend that you have the batteries changed
by your authorized Audi dealer. However, you can
change the batteries yourself.
Each master key has a battery, located in the cover of the
sender unit Þ fig. 30.
Battery removal
–Unfold the key.
Insert a small screwdriver into the slot in the key case
and twist it as illustrated to carefully pry the key section
Þ fig. 30 off the key base .
Remove the cover from the key base Þ fig. 31 (arrow).
Battery installation
Install the new battery.
Ensure that the side of the battery with the “+” symbol
faces down. The picture on the insid e of the lid shows the
correct battery position.
Place the lid with the installed battery over the key base
and press the two parts together.
Place the key base on the key stem and press both parts
together.
For the sake of the environment
Dispose of dead batteries properly so as not to pollute the environ-
ment. Many stores that sell batteries will accept dead batteries for
recycling or proper disposal.
