When the QNX OS writes to a file, it doesn’t update the directory structure. This is done to
maximize the write speed. The result is after a crash/power loss the contents of the files will be lost.
The OS provides a function that can be called to update the directory structure. The name of the
function is sync.
So this allows the user to select how often in seconds the sync function is performed. Typically the
sync function is done once every 60 seconds. This means at most the user might lose 1 minute worth
of data.
If the sync is done very often it will slow down the write and the data rate that the M300 can do.
The sync time works with the M300 raw binary files and also the ASCII files.
AutoFileName,Year,Month,Day,Hour,MinuteandSecond
When using the generate file name feature of the M300 for raw binary files and ASCII files, this
allows the user to pick which aspect of the naming scheme the user wants to have in the file name.
