AUTOMATICALLYSTARTTHEM300ONSYSTEMBOOT
To start the M300 system automatically.
1. Create a new user in the ‘sea’ group with no password to allow your system to perform auto login.
You can do this by opening a shell and becoming super ‘su -’ and press enter, followed by the
password for the root user.
2. Next you must type the password command and then the name of the user you wish to create.
Make sure you look at ‘/etc/passwd’ file and look at the existing user ids. New user id, must be
greater than 101 and not any of the existing user ids. For our purposes we suggest the user name
‘operator’ because it is easily identifiable. You would accomplish this by entering ‘
passwd
operator’
at the command prompt.
3. Next you will be prompted for the User account information. The following is a list of
recommended responses to these prompts. For more detailed information as to how these
decisions were made please refer to (See “Adding User Accounts” on page 37).
User ID: 110
Group ID: 101
Real Name: operator
Home Directory: /home/operator
