State

PB/UDP

Protocol
Protocol used by the port/instrument. This can be udp or tcp (most of the time it is udp).
Direction
Data direction, are we sending or receiving. In the M300 system we can do one of these modes but
not both simultaneously.
IP
The IP address to use. When doing udp, for the most part the IP is blank. For the tcp mode it gets
more complicated. Contact SEA for a document on this topic and help with setting this up.
Port
The name or number of the port to use. This is from /etc/services file. If the port is not there, it must
be added. There are a large number of well defined ports for TCP/IP communications. The user port
number should not use any of the predefined ports.
