Step 1
Tools Needed
9/16” (16 mm) Socket wrench
Small long rope for holding docks
to shore.
Items Not Included
1/4” (6.35 mm)Chain
3/8” x 3”-4” (10 mm x 10 cm)Bolt
3/8” (10 mm) Lock nut
(2) 3/8” (10 mm) Washers
Attach the Pole Connector to the
dock in the desired location.
Secure Pole Connectors into
sockets with bolts, washers, and
bushings as shown. Tighten the
bolts using 25 lbs/ft (3.46 kg/m) of
torque.
Step 2
Slip the long end of the Dead Man
Collar into the Pole Connector.
Step 3
Insert a weighted chain through
the bottom of the Dead Man
Collar. (Note: Use a heavy
gauge wire bent into a hook to
reach through the Dead Man
Collar to pull the chain up the
center). Fasten the chain by
setting a link in the groove in the
top of the collar.
Step 4
With the extra chain hanging down the
side Pole Connector, put a bolt with a
washer at its head through a link. Repeat
adding links on to the bolt every few links
to make a ball. Make the chain ball big
enough so the chain can't pass through the
Dead Man Collar. Add the washer and nut
to hold chain ball in place.
