SECTION4–FIRSTAIDMEASURES

Eyes: Flushthoroughlywithwaterforatleast15minutes.Holdeyelidsaparttoensureflushingof

entireeyesurface.Removecontactlenses,ifpresentandeasytodo.Consultaphysician

immediately.

Skin:

 Immediatelyflushwithwaterfor15minutes.Washthecontaminatedskinwithsoapand

water.Ifclothingbecomescontaminated,launderbeforereuse.Ifirritationorpain

develops,getmedicalattention.

Ingestion:

 DONOTinducevomiting.Callaphysicianatonce;intheinterimcontactapoisoncontrol

center.Administerwaterormilk,butDONOTgiveanythingbymouthifthepersonis

unconsciousorishavingconvulsions.

Inhalation:

 Ifapersonexperiencesnausea,headache,ordizziness,personshouldstopwork

immediatelyandmovetofreshairuntilthosesymptomsdisappear.Ifbreathingisdifficult,

administeroxygen,keepthepersonwarmandatrest,andcallaphysician.Intheeventthat

anindividualinhalesenoughvaporstolose

consciousness,thatpersonshouldbemovedto

freshairatonceandaphysicianshouldbecalledimmediately.Ifbreathinghasstopped,

artificialrespirationshouldbegivenimmediately.Inallcases,ensureadequateventilation

andproviderespiratoryprotectionbeforethepersonreturnstowork.



Mostimportantsymptoms/effects,acuteanddelayed

asdescribedbelow:

Eyes:

 Eyeirritant.

Skin:

 Skinirritant;Maybeabsorbedthroughtheskininharmfulamounts;Maycauseskin

sensitization;Maycausedermatitis.

Inhalation:

 Possibleirritationoftherespiratorysystemcanoccurcausingavarietyofsymptoms

suchasdrynessofthethroat,tightnessofthechest,andshortnessofbreath.May

causecentralnervoussystemdepressioncharacterizedbythefollowingprogressive

steps:headache,dizziness,staggeringgait,confusion,unconsciousnessorcoma.

Allergicconditionscan

occurincertainindividualswithhighsensitivitytoisocyanates;

thismayresultinasthma‐likesymptoms.Maycauserespiratorysensitization.May

causelungdamage.

Ingestion:

 Harmfulifswallowed.



SuitableExtinguishingMedia: CarbonDioxide,DryChemical,Foam,WaterFog.

UnsuitableExtinguishingMedia:

SpecialFireFightingProcedures:

 Wearfullfirefightingprotectiveclothing,includingself‐contained

breathingapparatus(SCBA).Waterspraymaybeineffective.If

waterisused,fognozzlesarepreferable.

UnusualFireandExplosion

Hazards:

Closedcontainersmayrupturewhenexposedtoextremeheat.Use

waterspraytokeepfireexposedcontainerscool.Duringafire,

irritatingand/ortoxicgasesandparticulatemaybegeneratedby

thermaldecompositionorcombustion.
