Hardware Installation Guide
Congratulations on the purchase of your Conceptronic ADSL USB modem.
The enclosed Hardware Installation Guide gives you a step by step explanation of how to install the Conceptronic ADSL USB
Modem on your Notebook/PC. When problems occur, we advise you to go to our support-site (go to www.Conceptronic.net and
click ‘support/2-Tech’). Here you will find a lot of possibilities to solve your problems.
In order to provide the requested support we need the following details from you:
• A clear description of the problem;
• Version number of the drivers you are using (always check the Conceptronic website to see whether you are using the latest
version);
• Type of Notebook/PC you are using;
• Operating system you are using

The Software installation as described below, may be slightly different from the installation on your computer. This depends on the
Windows version you are using.

To connect your telephone, you need an optional splitter. You can buy this splitter via your telecom provider or via your
Conceptronic dealer.
2. How to install the ADSL USB modem
1. Connect the USB cable to your computer.
2. Connect the other side of the USB cable to your ADSL USB modem.
3. Connect the RJ11 cable to your ADSL USB modem (the ADSL port on the back of the ADSL USB modem).
4. Connect the other side of the RJ11 cable into the phone outlet.

3.ADSL USB modem driver installation
3.1 Windows 98(SE) driver installation
1. Boot your computer, place the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. After you plugged in the USB cable in the CADSLUA/B and into
the computer, Windows automatically detects new hardware.
2. Click ‘Next’.
3. Select ‘Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)’.Click ‘Next’.
4. Only select ‘Specify the location of the driver’ and type ‘D:\800’ assuming D is your CD-ROM drive. Click ”Next”.
5. Click ”Next” and ”Finish”.
After the USB driver installation, the ”ADSL USB Modem Configuration Wizard” will start automatically. How to configure the ADSL
USB modem see chapter ”ADSL USB Modem Configuration Wizard”.
3.2 Windows ME driver installation
1. Place the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. After you plugged in the USB cable in the ADSL USB modem and your computer,
Windows automatically detects new hardware.
2. Select ”Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)”. Click “Next”.
3. Specify the location of the driver or Click ”Browse”. Click ”Next”.
4. Click ”Next”.
5. Click ”Finish”.
