Product guide

A balun converts an unbalanced video signal into a balanced signal which can then be fed over standard CAT 5 cable. CAT 5 is much more cost
effective to work with than RG59 and also provides greater flexibility as up to 4 video signals can be fed on a single CAT 5 cable run. Baluns
can be either passive (no power required) or active (they need a separate PSU but generally offer extended transmission distance). In general,
if a balun is used on a camera, a corresponding balun is also required at the monitor side to convert the balanced signal back to unbalanced
to allow connection to a standard BNC input (DVR, monitor etc.).

Converts 4 BNC inputs to one CAT 5 RJ45 connection. Maximum
distance is 300m for colour cameras and 600m for B/W
cameras. A second VA313 at the monitor end converts the single
CAT5 back in to 4 BNC outputs for connection to a DVR or
monitor etc.
Provides power to and receives video from up to 4
cameras (one CAT 5 cable per camera). Each camera

RJ45 connector which can be fed over another CAT 5 run
to a VA313 to ultimately provide 4 standard BNC video

Located at the camera and accepts power from and feeds
video back to a VA318 or VA314 over a single CAT5 cable.
The VA311 is an incredibly compact single channel passive video
balun which can easily be fitted inside speed dome junction boxes,
camera housings and to the rear panel of DVRs without
obstructing other cable connections.
To reduce cable cost and installation time, one length of CAT-5
c
able can be used for up to 4 pairs of VA311, allowing 4 camera
signals to be transmitted at distances of up to 300m in colour and
600m in black & white.
