Forexample,ifthethreemeasuredvoltageswere198,207,and204volts,theaveragewould
be:
(198+207+204)/3=203
Thepercentageofimbalanceisthen:
(203–198)x100/203=2.46%
Thisexceedsthemaximumallowablevoltageimbalanceof2%.
Theunitincludesaterminalblockformainpowerconnectiontothemainpowersource.The
mainpowersourceshouldbeconnectedtotheterminalblockthroughanappropriate
disconnectswitch.Aseparatelugforgroundingtheunitisinthemaincontrolpanel.Checkthe
electricalphasesequenceatinstallationandpriortostart‐up.Operationofthecompressor
withincorrectelectricalphasesequencingwillresultinmechanicaldamagetothecompressors.
Checkthephasingwithaphasesequencemeterpriortoapplyingpower.Thepropersequence
shouldreadABConthemeter.IfthemeterreadsCBA,openthemainpowerdisconnectand
switchtwolineleadsonthelinepowerterminalblocks(ortheunitmounteddisconnect).All
componentsarewiredandphasedcorrectlyatthefactory.Donotinterchangeanyloadleads
thatarefromtheunitcontactorsorthemotorterminals.
WARNING:ItisimperativethatL1‐L2‐L3areconnectedintheA‐B‐Cphasesequencetoprevent
equipmentdamageduetoreverserotation.
CAUTION:Theunitrequiresthemainpowertoremainconnectedduringoff‐hourstoenergizethe
compressor’scrankcaseheater.Disconnectmainpoweronlywhenservicingthechiller.The
crankcaseheatershouldremainonwhenthecompressorisofftoensureliquidrefrigerantdoesnot
accumulateinthecompressorcrankcase.

themainterminalblockenergizestheentireelectriccircuitryofthechiller.Acontroltransformer
andpowersupplyhasbeenfactorywiredtostepdowntheincomingpowertothe115VACand
24VDCcontrolpower.Electricpoweratthemaindisconnectmustbe
shutoffbeforeopeningaccess
panelsforrepairormaintenanceinordertopreventexposuretoenergizedcomponents.Ground
theunitproperlyincompliancewithlocalandnationalcodes.
CondenserWaterLines(EP2WModelsOnly)
Theperformanceofacondenserisdependentonmaintainingtheproperflowandtemperature
ofwaterthroughtheheatexchanger.Insufficientwaterfloworhighcondenserwatersupply
temperaturewillresultinthereductionofcoolingcapacityofthechiller.Extremeconditions
willeventuallyresultinthechillershuttingdowndue
tohighrefrigerantpressure.Ifcondenser
