7. Verifythatallrefrigerantvalvesareopen.
8. MakesuretheFreezestatissetappropriately
fortheoperatingconditionsofthechiller.TheFreezestatsettingisinapasswordprotected
menuofthechillercontroller.Referto
theControllerOperationSectionforinstructionon
howtoaccessthismenu,Itshouldbesetat10°F(5°C)belowtheminimumchilledwater
temperaturesettingthatthechillerwillbeoperating.ReferenceTable3tobesurethe
coolantsolutionhassufficientfreezeprotection(glycol)tohandleatleast5°F
(2.8°C)below
theFreezestatsetting.AllchillersareshippedfromthefactorywiththeFreezestatsetat
38°F(3°C).Thisisdonetoprotectagainstapossiblefreeze‐upifnoglycolhasbeenadded
tothecoolant.Oncetheproperglycolsolutionhasbeenadded,theFreezestatcanbe
adjustedtotheappropriatesetting.
Note:Themanufacturer’swarrantydoesnotcovertheevaporatorfromfreezing.Itisvitalthatthe
Freezestatissetproperly.
9. Turnonthecontrolpowerby turningthecontrolpowerswitchto"On".Thepaneldisplays
shouldnowbeilluminated.
10. Duetoextremeambienttemperaturesthattheunitmaybeexposedtoduringshipment,
theHighRefrigerantPressureswitchmayhavetripped.Ifthisisthecase,disconnect
the
mainpowerandresettheHighRefrigerantPressurebydepressingthemanualresetbutton
locatedontheswitch.Reconnectthemainpowerandturnthecontrolpoweronby
pressingthePowerbutton.ClearthealarmconditionbypressingtheAlarmResetbutton.
11. Establishflowthroughtheevaporator.Standardunitsareprovidedwithaninternalpump
thatcanbeenergizedbypressingtheStartbutton.Iftheunithasbeencustomizedand
doesnothaveaninternalpump,theexternalpumpshouldbeenergizedtoestablishflow
throughtheevaporator.
Note:Thecompressorwillnotstartaslongastheflowswitchisopen.Apositiveflowmustbeestablished
throughtheevaporatorbeforethecompressorcanoperate.
