4.3 Default Settings
The following default settings are present when setting up the router for the first
time. The PC running the browser can be attached to the Ethernet.
One PPPoE PVC (VPI=8, VCI=35)
NAT Enabled and Firewall Disabled
DHCP server on LAN interface: Enabled
WAN IP address: None
LAN port IP address: 192.168.1.1
Local administrator account name: root
Local administrator account password: 12345
Remote WAN access: Enabled
Remote WAN access account name: root
Remote WAN access account password: 12345
Technical Note:
During power on initialization, the router initializes all configuration attributes to
default values. It will then read the configuration profile from the Permanent
Storage section of flash memory. The default attributes are overwritten when
identical attributes with different values are configured. The configuration profile
in Permanent Storage can be created via the Web User Interface (WUI), the
console, telnet client or other management tools. The factory default
configuration can be restored either by pushing the reset button for more than
five seconds, or by clicking the Restore Default Configuration option in the
Restore Settings screen.
