5.2.1 PPP over ATM (PPPoA) and PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)

1. Select the PPP over ATM (PPPoA) or PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) radio

button and click Next. The following screen appears:

PPP USERNAME/PPP PASSWORD/ PPPOE SERVICE NAME:

The PPP Username, PPP password and the PPPoE Service Name entries are

dependent on the particular requirements of the ISP or the ADSL service provider.

The WEB user interface allows a maximum of 256 characters in the PPP user name

and a maximum of 32 characters in PPP password.

Encapsulation Mode

Choosing different connection types provides different encapsulation modes.

 PPPoA- VC/MUX, LLC/ENCAPSULATION

 PPPoE- LLC/SNAP BRIDGING, VC/MUX

 MER- LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING, VC/MUX

 IPoA- LLC/SNAP-ROUTING, VC MUX

 Bridging- LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING, VC/MUX
