Individual Demodulator Settings
Theacceptable/validoperatingrangesforitemsinthissectionareprovidedinparentheses.
The upper range of Data and Symbol Rate selection requires activation of the
‘RECEIVEDATARATE’FASToption.
The Web Server Interface polls current operations and populates this section with the
configured demodulators (i.e., Demod #1 through Demod #12). If a slot is polled as empty or
otherwiseunrecognizable,amessageisdisplayed–e.g.,Dem
od#Xisnotinstalled–inplaceof
aconfigurablerowofparameters.
Duringoperation,someparametersareautomaticallycontrolled–eitherbytheACMalgorithm
or by the VMS– whenexecuting dSCPC switches. During these times, some page functionality
becomesdisabledandaffectedfeaturesdisplayi
nformationonaread‐onlybasis.
Foreach operatingdemodulator,note thefollowing selections onaper‐columnbasisfrom left
toright:
• Demod # – This is the available "FILLED" demodulator slot (automatically assigned in pairs
pereachinstalleddualdemodulatorcard).
• Demod Enable – Click this option bu
tton to enable the slot. Click [Submit] to execute this
operationalchange.
• RxSymbolRate(16ksps‐4.5Mbps)–Enterthesymbolrate,andthenclick[Submit]tosave.
• RxDataRate(16kbps‐15.350Mbps)–Enterthedatarate,andthen cl
ick[Submit]tosave.
WhenAdaptiveCodingandModulation(ACM)issettoEnable,theDataRate
is set automatically (manual configuration of Data Rate is disabled), and the
appearancesoftheRxDataRateandRxMODCODcolumnschangeasfollows:
• Frequency(950‐2150)–EntertheRxfrequency,inMHz.
• Rx MODCOD – Use the drop‐do
wn menu to select the demodulation type and FEC rate
(MODCOD).Selectionsareasfollows:
