4.4 Performing the Ethernet FTP Upload Procedure
Toproceedwiththefirmwareupdateprocedure,assumptionsaremadethat:
• TheCDD‐880isconnectedtoauser‐supplied,Windows‐basedPC,and:
o ThePCserialportisconnectedtotheCDD‐880‘CONSOLE’port.
o ThePCEthernetportisconnectedtotheCDD‐880‘ETHERNET|TRAFFIC/
MANAGEMENT | GE’ 10/100/1000 BaseT Gigabit Ethernet port with a
user‐suppliedhub,switch,ordirectEthernetcableconnection.
o The PC is running a terminal emulation program (for operation of the
CDD‐880SerialCommandLineInterface)andacompatibleWebbrowser
(foroperationoftheCDD‐880WebServerInterface).
• The CDD‐880 Management IP Address has been noted using the CDD‐880
Serial Command Line Interface (CLI), and the firmware has been identified
usingeithertheCLIortheCDD‐880WebServerInterface‘Admin|Firmware’
page.
• The latest firmware files have been downloaded or otherwise received from
ComtechEFDataandareavailableontheuserPCinanaccessibletempo rary
folder.
1. Use Com mand‐Line to send a ‘PING’ command to confirm proper connection and
communicationbetweentheuserPCandtheCDD‐880:
• If the Ma
nagement IP Address of the unit is still not known, type “inf o” at the CLI
‘CDD‐880>’ command prompt and record the displ ayed information. Alternately, use
SerialRemoteControlortheWebServerInterface:
o SerialRemoteControl – Typethe“<0/IPA?”remotequery(without quotes)atthe
CLI CDD‐880
> command prompt. The unit returns the configured Management IP
Address:
