 is an ecient way of delivering BRIC-Link II digital audio streams to mulple locaons. This involves
relying on the network to distribute the stream to the locaons that require it, rather than creang an independent
stream for each user.
Performing an IP Mulcastrequires the use of an IP Mulcast-capable network. The commercial Internet, with few
excepons, is not capable of supporng IP Mulcast. Some private LANs and WANs are IP Mulcast capable.
IP Mulcast does not support duplex connecons, and only supports a single direcon stream. An encoder can not
receive input streams when mulcasng. CrossLock is not supported and should be turned o for all IP Mulcast
connecons.
The following secon presupposes that IP Mulcast users will be familiar with the basic concepts of setup and
operaon of the network, and will thus focus on how to congure BRIC-Link II for Mulcast mode.

To congure remotes for Mulcast, rst create a prole for either a Mulcast Sender or a Mulcast Receiver on the
tab.
As shown in , when dening a new prole there is the opon to choose  as the prole type.
Mulcast proles have fewer opons than other prole types, however, and some of the available opons will have
no eect (e.g. seng an encoder type on a Mulcast receiver has no eect).
