There is no dierence in making Switchboard connecons via and non- methods. If a connecon is
aempted via Switchboard, and the following is true:
1 The ACCESS on the far end is running rmware 4.0 or higher.
2 The port is (UDP 9001) open to the far end.
3 Each ACCESS is aware of the other’s Switchboard ID (Mac address). This is handled behind the
scenes in Switchboard.
Then a connecon will be aempted. If port is blocked, or if the far end connecon has 3.x or lower
rmware, the connecon will proceed in the legacy “BRIC Normal” mode.
A successful connecon is indicated by a green “Lock” icon in the lower banner. Because is
established before an audio stream, and lingers for some me aer, this may stay green even when an audio stream is
not acve.
