- Familiar name to call this entry.
- The public IP address of the desnaon (phone number for POTS
calls). If using non-default ports, add the port number aer a colon.
- Select which prole is used to make the connecon. (Proles determine encoders used
and other parameters—see the secon on .) If no selecon is made
for proles, the call will proceed with the default prole of Opus mono.
Follow the direcons above for Manual Connecons without CrossLock, but in addion, add the Switchboard ID (MAC
Address) of the codec you’ll be connecng to. This is an added security layer to ensure only authorized codecs connect
via CrossLock. This is input when creang or eding a remote into the Switchboard ID eld.
It’s important to note that in order to connect this way, the receiving codec must also have a matching entry including
the Switchboard ID (MAC address) of the calling codec. This must be present as an outgoing entry (even if the entry is
never actually used for outgoing calls). The Switchboard ID (MAC address) of the NX Portable can be located in
. The Node ID is the MAC address and thus the Switchboard ID.
If these condions aren’t met, or if the receiving codec is not CrossLock capable, a legacy BRIC Normal style connecon
will be aempted.
Choose the manual or Switchboard entry desired and press the green “” buon. Call progress and status will
appear on the entry. If a CrossLock connecon is established, the “” icon on the status bar will light green.
No acon is necessary to receive incoming calls on NX. Whether via Switchboard or manually, NX will automacally
connect compable incoming calls and show them in the remote list.
