Printing Overview
Moving a print job to another print queue (qmov command)
This section discusses how you can move a print job to another print queue.
Note: You cannot move a remote print job to another print queue.
Prerequisite
The printer must be physically attached to your system.
You must be the print job owner. See Moving a print job between queues on page 2-33 for
information about moving print jobs ofother users.
Web–based System Manager
To move a print job to another queue using Web–based System Manager, enter wsm, and
then select Printers.
In the Printer Queues window, select the print job, and then use the menus to move it from
one print queue to another.
qmov command
Use the qmov command to move a print job to another print queue. You can either move a
particular print job, or you can move all the print jobs on a specified print queue or all the
print jobs sent by a specified user. To determine the print job number, enter the qchk
command. For more information, see qchk command on page 1-15.
The basic format of the qmov command is:
qmov –mNewQueue {[ –#JobNumber ] [ –PQueue ] [ –uUser ]}

The following list contains examples of how to use the qmov command:
• To move job number 280 to print queue hp2, enter:
qmov –mhp2 –#280
• To move all print jobs on print queue hp4D to print queue hp2, enter:
qmov –mhp2 –Php4D
smit command
To move a print job using SMIT, enter:
smit qmov
