In the case of a combination light the lamp housings are positioned so that the light fields of both lights are coin-
cident You have to consider the following: The light’s adjustment to maximum illumination causes an increased
desiccation of the tissue. Swivel and spring arms are positioned in the basic setting as shown in illustration 2. With
this arrangement the position of the lamps can be easily changed without using force.
In the case of a combination light the basic setting is in accordance with illustration 2. In this arrangement both
lamps can be easily moved, and the control units of both lamps can be easily reached by “non-sterile” personnel.
In operations in which it is necessary to intervene at two separate points as may be the case, for example, in a by-
pass procedure, the two lamps are positioned above the two points of intervention as if they were single lights.
