PPPoE Parameter Description
MTU
The MTU or Maximum Transmission Unit is the largest packet size
allowed by the ISP. It is set by default to 1462 though it can vary
between 1400 and 1492.
Username
This refers to your broadband account username.
Password
This refers to your broadband account password.
Service Name
This optional field allows you to key in the service name of your
ADSL subscription.
On-Demand
If enabled, the NetPassage router will automatically connect to the
ISP whenever a LAN client makes an Internet request.
Idle Timeout
This field is relevant only if the On-Demand option is enabled and
allows you to specify a maximum lapse of idle time allowed before
Compex WPE54AG automatically goes offline. It will only re-
connect when a LAN client makes an Internet request.
If the field is set to 0, this feature will be disabled and Compex
WPE54AG will remain online unless disconnected by the ISP.
Always-On
If this feature is enabled, Compex WPE54AG will remain
permanently connected to the Internet.
Reconnect Time
Factor
This field is relevant only if the Always-On option is enabled and
allows you to specify a maximum lapse of offline time following
which, NetPassage should automatically reconnect to the Internet.
The default value has been set to 30 seconds.
Use non-standard
PPPoE Ethernet type
This applies to certain Ethernet-based ADSL modem requiring non-
standard PPPoE for authentication. In case of doubts, do NOT
enable this checkbox.
