7.2 Infrastructure Network Security

Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) is used to authenticate network

clients before letting them access the enterprise network. It allows the

network administrator to create an arbitrary authentication scheme

(such as EAP-TLS, etc) to validate network access.

7.2.1 EAP-TLS

Extensible Authentication Protocol-Transport Layer Security (EAP-

TLS) makes use of client-side and server-side certificates for

mutual authentication.

To use EAP-TLS security, access the Security tab in the Profile

Management window.

1. You can select

WPA radio button

(WPA stands for Wi-Fi

Protected Access)

802.1x radio button

(802.1x enables 802.1x security.

If the access point that the wireless adapter is

associating to has WEP set to Optional while

the wireless adapter has WEP enabled, ensure

that Allow Association to Mixed Cells is

checked to allow association.

Note that this option is available only in 802.1

and Pre-Shared Key (Static WEP).
