Operating Manual
Start the HyperTerminal program. (If you are using HyperTer-
minal for Vista, setup requirements may differ from what is
described here.)
From the Windows task bar, go to Programs|Accessories|Hyperte
rminal and click on the icon called Hypertrm.exe. The HyperTermi-
nal program will start up.
If you are using HyperTerminal for the first time, you will have to
create a “connection” for your ProChrono Remote. This is done as
follows:
Type in “ProChronoRemote” (or whatever title you prefer) in
the place where it says “Name:” in the “Connection Description
Dialog box.
Select an icon of your choice from the selection of icons in the
dialog box. Then click on the “OK” button with your mouse.
A “Phone Number” dialog box will appear. This is because
HyperTerminal is designed to be used primarily with modems,
but we will be making a direct connection to the PC’s serial
port. Click on the down-arrow of the drop down box labeled
“Connect using:” If your PC is capable of working with the
ProChrono Remote, There will be one or more selections like
the following: “Direct to Com X” where X is a number (usually
1 or 2 but it may be much higher). Select the Com port you will
be using. If you don’t know which Com port to use, try Com 1
first. It is OK to select your Com port by trial and error, if the
first one you try doesn’t work.
Click on the “OK” button with your mouse.
Another dialog box will appear entitled “COMX Properties” where
the X is the number of the Com port you selected.
Using the drop down boxes, select the following:

1.
