Appendix A
Jumper Settings
The EcoLAN 3000E will automatically configure the network configuration without
the need to access internal jumpers. However, in some cases it may be necessary to
use a jumper to reset the 3000E back to a factory default condition.
HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
FOR
STATIC SENSITIVE DEVICES
The EcoLAN 3000E is normally contained within the printer which acts to protect sensi-
tive components from damage due to electrostatic discharge (ESD) during normal opera-
tion. When performing installation procedures, however, take proper static control
precautions to prevent damage to equipment.
WARNING: Make sure you do not have the printer plugged into a wall outlet. If it is,
unplug the power cord BEFORE you open the unit. Remove the 3000E
from the printer (refer to Chapter 2 installation instructions if necessary).
A.1 Reset the EcoLAN 3000E to Factory Default Settings
When the management utilities cannot be used to perform a reset to factory defaults,
the EcoLAN 3000E may be restored to factory default conditions with a jumper
(OP2). The function of OP2 is to reconfigure NVRAM. This is done when a unit is
moved from one site to another and should be restored to as as-new condition.
Use the diagram and instructions on the following page to reset the 3000E to factory
defaults with OP2.
