Express 5000 Series
The Express 5000 Series of remote access devices supports
Frame Relay connectivity for employees working from branch
locations, home offices, and other remote site locations. The
Express 5110 is a Frame Relay Access Device (FRAD) support-
ing legacy protocols and LANs with a built-in 56/64K DSU/CSU
and two data ports. The Express 5200 Series includes the same
features as the Express 5110 and adds support for voice and dial
backup. The Express 5210 has a single data port and adds a
10BaseT Ethernet port and built-in IP router for full-featured
Frame Relay access.
As Frame Relay continues to experience growth, it is becoming
necessary to enhance network reliability for critical sites. Safe-T-
Net is ADTRAN's technology that provides dial backup for
network recovery of Frame Relay traffic. Safe-T-Net is support-
ed in ATLAS, IQ, and Express 5200 Series products.

ATLAS 830
The ATLAS 830 includes an IP router and support for PPP
applications. Voice over Frame Relay (VoFR) is supported using
one or more of the optional Voice Compression Modules to
deliver high quality voice among Frame Relay sites. The ATLAS
830 can be configured to transport voice and data traffic within a
single PVC, reducing monthly expenses. An ATLAS 830 can be
optioned to transport up to 64 compressed voice connections over
a Frame Relay network.
ATLAS 830
ATLAS 550
ATLAS 550 supports multiple network technologies including
T1/FT1 DSX-1, ISDN, FXS, FXO, V.35 and 10/100 Ethernet and is
designed to be used for more cost-effective T1, ISDN or Frame
Relay networks. With the modularity of ATLAS 550, users can now
support up to 10 FT1s and run traditional switched or multi-plexed
voice/data traffic, ISDN, or packetized Frame Relay. Users can also
run a hybrid mix of network architectures that will make it easier to
evolve network systems and applications. For example, using
intelligent call routing and an optional voice compression module,
users can simultaneously support toll grade voice calls and
compressed voice over Frame Relay, all dynamically switched
between PBXs, key systems, and the public network.
