FOMi-T3 and FOMi-E3 Intelligent Fiber Optic Modems
FOMi-E3 and FOMi-T3 are intelligent fiber-optic modems designed for the
transmission of E3 (34.368 Mbps), T3 (44.736 Mbps) or HSSI signals over
multimode and single mode fiber-optic media. The modems can be ordered
with dual fiber-optic interfaces allowing full redundancy on the link
transmission. A switchover mechanism is activated immediately upon
detection of low optical levels on one of the dual optical links.
Configuration, monitoring and diagnostics are performed via an ASCII
terminal or an SNMP management station.
FOMi-E1/T1 Intelligent Fiber Optic Modem
The FOMi-E1/T1 intelligent Fiber Optic modem provides extended range
for E1 (2048 Mbps) or T1 (1544 Mbps) signals over fiber optic cable. Two
versions of FOMi-E1/T1 are available: Master and Slave. The Master
standalone version features a front panel LCD. The Slave unit has a blank
front panel with a 20-pin connector. For cases where parameters of the
slave or master unit have to be monitored or changed on the slave side, a
Portable Control Unit (PCU) can be connected via the 20-pin connector
(see Ordering).

AMC-102 Universal Media Converter
The AMC-102 is a high speed Media Converter which provides retimed
conversion of optical and electrical signals at rates of 155 and 622
Mbps. The modularity of AMC-102 interfaces enables field changeable
conversion between different media types. Protocols supported in
retimed mode are 155 Mbps STM-1/OC-3, 155 Mbps STM-1/STS-3c
over UTP and 622 Mbps STM-4/OC-12.
