1700 – 1799, Hard Drive Test Error Codes
The 1700 series of diagnostic error codes identifies failures with hard drives, hard drive
controller boards, hard drive cables, and system board functions. If the system uses a drive array
controller, see “Array Diagnostic Utility (ADU)” later in this chapter.

1. Ensure that the hard drive signal and power cables
are seated properly and retest.
2. Replace the hard drive signal and power cables
and retest.
3. Replace the hard drive data cable and retest.
4. Replace the hard drive and retest.
5. Replace the Server Feature Board and retest.
6. Replace the system board and retest.
