Chapter 3
Hardware Options Installation
This chapter provides procedures for installing, removing, and replacing
hardware options in the ProLiant ML350.
CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage electronic components. Be
sure you are properly grounded (earthed) before beginning any installation
procedure.
Powering Down the Server
Before installing or removing options, prepare your server by following these
steps:
CAUTION: Failure to follow these directions could result in damage to
equipment or loss of information.
1. Back up your server data and record configuration information.
2. Power down the operating system (OS) in an orderly manner, as
directed in your OS instructions.
3. Power down the server by pressing the power button on the front of the
server.
IMPORTANT: The system power in the ProLiant ML350 does not completely power down
with the front panel power button. To completely remove all power from the system, you
must disconnect the power cord from the server.
4. Remove the power cord.
