IMPORTANT: If there is no connection or external terminator at the BNC port, set
the jumper to the OFF position. Otherwise, excessive collisions will occur and
adversely affect network performance.
The AW1 jumper settings are shown in Figure 2-2:

To install a BNC connector, follow these steps:
1. Power down the repeater if it is currently operating For information
about disconnecting power, see the section “Disconnecting Power” in
Chapter 3 of this guide.
2. Remove the cover from the repeater's Media Expansion Port.
3. Check that the jumpers on the BNC board are set correctly (ON for
connection; OFF for no connection).
