The
IPA Networking Facilities
are widely used on UNIX and ICL Mainframe systems. The products announced are

•
FTF
allows files to be transferred to and from other systems using the Information Processing Architecture (IPA)
standard Network Independent File Transfer Protocol (NIFTP).
•
Interactive Video
allows workstations on the UNIX server to communicate with ICL VME mainframe applications
and services in Full Video Mode
.
•
Interactive Video (KE)
allows workstations on the UnixWare2.0 Application Server systems to communicate with
ICL VME mainframe applications and services in Full Video Mode
.
This product will also support Function key
Mapping but it supports fewer terminal types and connection modes than
Interactive Video
.
•
Direct Print
allows ICL VME mainframe applications and services to route data to the UNIX server connected
printer spooler or file.
•
DP Primary
supports the transmission of documents from the UNIX server to a remote system which supports ICL
VME standard secondary interface for remote printers, ICAW-02 Variant 5
.
•
ADI
is part of ICL VME Information Processing Architecture (IPA). The ADI product allows programs in the UNIX
server to communicate with programs using ADI in other systems in the same communications network.
