Compaq Despro EP Series of Personal Computers 5-7
5.1.4 Jumpers (Intel 810/810e)
E49 Jumper Location
When you change a security feature, you must reset the appropriate jumper on the system
board, then reconfigure the computer to recognize this change. If the system configuration
is incorrect, your computer may not work properly and you may receive error messages.
Setting system board jumpers is part of the reconfiguration process, along with running
the Computer Setup utility.
✎
To change the system board jumpers, you must remove the system access panel.
For assembly and disassembly procedures, refer to Chapter 4.
CAUTION:
To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the internal system
components to cool before touching.
WARNING:
Be sure to turn off the computer before changing a jumper setting or damage to the
system board can result.
