USING PC CARDS
A PC Card is a credit card–sized accessory designed to conform to
the standard specifications of the Personal Computer Memory
Card International Association (PCMCIA). The computer supports
both 32-bit (CardBus) and 16-bit PC Cards.
Selecting a PC Card Slot
PC Cards are classified as Type I, Type II, and Type III. The
three types are about the same length and width, but vary in
thickness. Type III cards are the thickest, at less than
one-half inch (10.5 mm).
The computer has two PC Card slots. These slots are not identical.
■ Type I and Type II PC Cards are supported in the top and
bottom PC Card slots singly or in any combination.
■ A Type III PC Card is supported only in the bottom PC Card
slot and prevents the insertion of a PC Card into the top slot.
NOTE: Windows NT 4.0 does not support zoomed video PC Cards.
