Installing on OpenVMS Alpha
4.5 Upgrading the Operating System
Rev. 1/9/01–A
Web-Based Enterprise Service Installation Guide 4–17
Note
Make note of the node you install from—the base install node. You usually run any
post-install cluster command procedures from the base install node, and always run
all uninstall commands from the base install node.
1. Run the following command procedure from the base install node:
$ @svctools_home:[bin]cluster uninstall
The command uninstalls WEBES from all of the nodes that are sharing the installation
except for the one executing the command. It does not uninstall on the running node so
that a normal product remove can be completed successfully.
2. Enter the following command and follow the prompts, which will be similar to those
from Section 4.4.1, Standalone Node Environment.
$ product remove webes
4.5 Upgrading the Operating System
You may see an error when trying to install the Compaq Analyze component of WEBES on a
freshly upgraded OpenVMS disk—one on which WEBES was already installed before the
upgrade.

Terminating is strongly recommended. Do you want to terminate? [YES]
Follow these steps to correct this error:
1. If you removed DESTA from the startup process, you must manually run the
DESTA$STARTUP.COM procedure to redefine the logicals.
2. You may have to reapply the appropriate table updates by running the following COM
procedures:
$ @SVCTOOLS_HOME:[BIN]RESET_DCLTBL_DESTA.COM
$ @SVCTOOLS_HOME:[BIN]RESET_DCLTBL_CA.COM
