Step 7. Install Printer Software
Before you can use this printer with your
software applications, you must install
printer software. (Please review the “HP
Software Product license” in Chapter 7.)
See Chapter 2 for more information on
software components.
Note:
If you use DOS programs also, see the
next page.
Installing the Windows
Printer Software
The installation program for the Windows
printer software will install all the
components needed for printing in a
Windows environment. It will review your
configuration and install a printer driver
optimized for your computer’s settings.
Locate the disks titled HP LaserJet 5L
Printing Software for Windows, and insert
Disk 1 into drive A.
1 In the Windows Program Manager
screen, pull down the
File menu.
2 Select the Run command.
3 Type A:SETUP in the command line
box and click OK on the screen or
press [Enter] on your keyboard.
Follow the instructions on the screen to
complete the installation. Your system
may not require all the disks during setup.
