Comparing memory and 3.3-V powered PCI Expansion Board power.
Each additional 512 MB draws approximately as much current as one to
two PCI boards.
■ Comparing hard drive and 5-V powered PCI Expansion Board Power.
One PCI card draws as much current as two to five hard drives.
■ In general, PCI array controllers draw more current than PCI NICs.
Memory Board Features
■ ECC memory with single-bit error correction and detection down to a
single dual inline memory module (DIMM), and multibit error detection
down to the memory bank
■ 50-ns EDO buffered DIMMs standard
G Supports EDO-buffered, 60-ns DIMMS
■ Expandable to 4-GB (16 x 256-MB DIMMs)
G 16-, 32-, 64-, 128-, 256-MB, and 4- or 8-K refreshed DIMMs
installed in sets of four (bank)
G Supports up to four memory banks, with each consisting of four
DIMMs. One bank is installed or removed at a time. Each DIMM of
a given bank must be of the same size, type, and speed. However, to
maintain 50-ns timing support, all four banks must contain only 50-
ns DIMMs. If mixed with slower (for example, 60-ns) DIMMs, the
memory speed is reduced to the slowest DIMMs.
■ Configuring your memory to take advantage of Address Bit Permuting
can enhance performance. See Chapter 3.

SCSI
■ Dual-Channel Wide-Ultra SCSI-3 Controller
